Current NEDSK8 Projects

• Whitewater Park - NEDSK8 has put together a coalition of partners that includes NEDSK8, the Nederland DDA and Boulder Flycasters to explore the feasibility of Middle Boulder Creek improvement project that would aim to build a whitewater (kayak) course in town and a riverwalk, as well as aquatic habitat and water quality improvements.

• Skatepark Entryway - enhancements to the entry area of the skatepark will help complete the transformation of the southern end of the gateway park area into a special gathering place for youth. NEDSK8 is attempting to move ahead with implementation of a landscaping design by Turnburke Associates that includes paving, seating walls and a spectator berm.

• Gateway Park Planning - NEDSK8 is working with the Town of Nederland's Parks Recreation and Open Space Advisory Board to determine community priorities for recreational development of the Barker Meadow Reservoir lakefront area. To that end, we created a community survey to gauge support for possible recreational development of this gateway park area. Surveys were distributed in the Mountain Ear Newspaper, at the Nederland Community Center and on the Town of Nederland website.
